I have always lived in the North East of England where I gained a degree in Graphic Design from Newcastle College of Art in 1967. I spent my working life as a graphic  designer for Washington New Town, Tyne and Wear County Council and Northumbria Police Authority.

When I retired I joined Northern Print Studio in Newcastle and rekindled my interest in silkscreen printing. This is a medium in which I enjoy experimenting with illustration and flat areas of colour.

I also paint in oils, watercolour and acrylic and often take inspiration from the beautiful north east coastline and surrounding areas.

I am often to be found on the local beaches collecting driftwood which I use to create mirrors, cupboards, candle holders and whatever the wood inspires.

Photography is another of my interests and in 2013 I was the Evening Chronicle prizewinner for the Grand Central Trains photography competition. The image is displayed on the Hart of the North train which travels between Sunderland and London Kings Cross.
